About Me:
Hello! My name is Sherena.
I am so glad you are here! If you are looking for a place to begin your healing journey, you are in the right place. My counseling tends to be practical and educational. I have been a counselor for 21 years now. I love to integrate my clinical skills with Biblical principles if you are open to that. If you are not open to that, please just let me know this in our first meeting. I have worked in every setting I can think of with the exception of prisons (though I have volunteered in one). I view this diverse experience as helpful in meeting people where they are.

With more than twenty one years, I have worked alongside parents to recognize children’s learning differences, create strategies for success, and nurture their unique God-given abilities. I have also supported teens and families in addressing anxiety and depression with care and compassion.

My therapeutic focus is to improve functioning and restore your joy in life. I am EMDR Certified for trauma resolution and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

My therapeutic approach combines evidence-based practices with holistic care, tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, encouraging healthier emotions and behaviors. Through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), I help clients strengthen emotional connections and build greater self-awareness and healing.
For clients seeking a faith-centered perspective, I incorporate Spiritual Direction and Christian Counseling, creating space for faith to serve as a source of guidance, hope, and restoration. I also utilize a Family and Systems Approach to help individuals and families better understand relationship dynamics, improve communication, and foster healthier connections.
In addition, I integrate Solution-Focused Therapy to encourage practical growth, goal-setting, and positive change. Using an eclectic approach, I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods to provide personalized care that best supports each client’s journey. My goal is to create a compassionate and supportive environment where healing, growth, and empowerment can thrive.
